Koningsdag traducido al español significa "Día del Rey" y se trata de una fiesta nacional que se celebra el día del cumpleaños del actual rey del país. Anteriormente, concretamente desde el año 1885 este día era celebrado cada 31 de agosto. Sin embargo, cuando la anterior reina abdicó y el reinado pasó a manos de su hijo Guillermo Alejandro la fiesta se trasladó al 27 de abril. Koningsdag means "King's Day" translated to English and it is a national holiday which is celebrated on the date of the birth of the current King. This holiday has been celebrated every 31st of August since 1885. However, after the previous Queen had abdicated and was succeeded by her son Willem-Alexander, the holiday changed its date to the 27th of April.
